Cardinals vs. Padres, Game 2

Mark Mulder got hit by a baseball in the top of the 2nd inning with two on and 1 out. He appears to be okay.

Mulder has loaded the bases. One out. Two outs. Mulder is almost out of a jam and the pitcher is due up. Just like that, Pedro Astacio grounds out.

Jason Marquis is warming up in the bullpen and it's only the second inning.

Pedro Astacio is falling apart very quickly in the 3rd inning. Clay Hensley is warming up in the bullpen. At the end of 3, St. Louis 2, San Diego 0.

Hensley is ready. Edmonds grounds out to end the inning. At the end of 4, St. Louis 4, San Diego 0.

Astacio was relieved by Hensley after the 4th inning. Hensley was relieved after the 6th inning when Miguel Olivo batted for him in the top of the 7th.

Mark Mulder exits the game in the 7th to a standing ovation. Julian Tavarez is now pitching for the Cardinals. Rudy Seanez relieved Hensley.

Reggie Sanders' double makes it 6-1 Cards. Xavier Nady's single in the seventh scored Khalil Greene.

The final score is St. Louis 6, San Diego 0.
