Evan Bayh voted against a pay raise in the senate citing the growing deficit. Good call, I'd do the same.

"With today's growing deficit, I don't believe the Senate should give itself a pay raise," said Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., who voted for the freeze.

Lugar, a Republican, voted against the freeze because he supports the system Congress created in 1989 to grant cost-of-living increases to lawmakers similar to the way other senior government officials' salaries are determined, according to spokesman Andy Fisher.

Danelle R. Groves was hired a few days before Daniel Groves was fired by the Governor.

The appointed job is a nonmerit position, not covered by the merit system law, which prohibits consideration of political affiliation in hiring for certain state jobs.

Before joining state government, Danelle Groves, 31, worked as a finance assistant for the Republican Party of Kentucky, according to a resume she attached to her state job application.
