Shame on you, Ernie Fletcher

Props to Ryan Alessi at the Lexington Herald-Leader. It appears that this administration is not giving the Attorney General's office the important emails that they need to look over. Look, Governor, the law is the law, and whether you like it or not, you broke it.

Several e-mails dating back to March 28 show that Fletcher and/or his chief of staff Stan Cave met with personnel officials, although the logs do not disclose the specific subjects of the meetings.

And it's still unclear what, if any, advice or warnings about potential personnel problems Roach, the former governor's general counsel, gave to Fletcher.

Brett Hall, the governor's communications director, said last month that Roach didn't express any such concerns to Fletcher.

But the privilege log refers to at least three documents in which Roach was engaged in personnel-law discussions.

One is an undated draft memo taken from Roach's computer that advises state officials on the legal hiring process for merit employees. Snyder said they have not yet determined whether Roach sent or received that memo.

Three March messages from former Transportation Deputy Secretary Dick Murgatroyd to Otis Reed, the former Transportation Cabinet personnel director, included attorney-client "communications" with Roach and transportation's former counsel.

Hall said yesterday he wasn't aware of such talks.

He said Roach, whom Fletcher appointed to the state Supreme Court this summer, did not share the results of those discussions with Fletcher. Roach did not return a call for comment.

The materials that have not been given to the proper officials appear to have future implications on current Supreme Court Justice John Roach. Oh, and Glenna Fletcher is in on this as well. Roach might as well resign right now. As to a Fletcher resignation, that would lead to Steve Pence becoming governor and possibly pardoning Ernie Fletcher. The Democratic party needs to take advantage of this right now. Hopefully, the press conference today will cover this.
