The Hunger Pains: A Parody by the Harvard Lampoon

Paperback: 176 pages
Publisher: Touchstone; Original edition (February 7, 2012)

The Harvard Lampoon is at it again. Scene-for-scene, the Lampoon parodies the bestselling book, The Hunger Games in a "hilarious send-up of the immensely popular dystopian young adult novel."

Some of the character names were changed to names that were really funny. Caesar becomes Jaesar Lenoman and yes, his monologue jokes are as horrible as Leno's--interview style as well. Effie--she's now Effu Poorpeople. Haywood becomes Buttitch Totalapathy. Katniss and Peeta are the only characters that really have names that hold true to their counterparts in the trilogy. They are now Kantkiss Neverclean and Pita Malarkey.

In the parody, we actually get to hear some of the dialogue that the people in the hovercraft are saying. Also, there are still mutations. It still makes for a fun parody.

If you enjoyed Suzanne Collins' books, I think you will laugh at the send-up.
