Kentucky Wildcats likely Music City Bowl-bound

While nothing will be official until after the BCS pairings are announced next week, it is very likely that the University of Kentucky Wildcats are headed back to Nashville to play in the Music City Bowl on December 31, 2008.

Kentucky.com:
The Kentucky football team won't officially find out its bowl destination until next Sunday, but the picture is a lot clearer after a 28-10 loss to Tennessee in the regular-season finale.

UK (6-6 overall, 2-6 Southeastern Conference) still held out hope for a Chick-fil-A Bowl bid before Saturday, but that probably went out the window in Knoxville.

The Wildcats appear headed for either a third straight trip to the Music City Bowl in Nashville (Dec. 31, 3:30 p.m.) or their first-ever appearance in the Liberty Bowl in Memphis (Jan. 2, 5 p.m.).

The Music City Bowl will pit an SEC team against an Atlantic Coast Conference team. Possible ACC representatives include Boston College, Maryland, Miami and Virginia Tech.

The Liberty Bowl features the SEC against the Conference USA champion. East Carolina will face Tulsa in the C-USA championship game on Dec. 6.
