"Despite the clear discontent of voters across the nation, I am pleased that Kentuckians saw fit to return Ben Chandler and John Yarmuth to Congress, elect Greg Fischer as mayor of Louisville and keep Democrats in charge of the State House of Representatives. Yesterday voters expressed their clear frustration with the continuing economic downturn, a frustration I share. It is time for Washington to refocus its efforts on getting people back to work, balancing the budget and reducing the size of government -- just like I have been doing for the past three years right here in Kentucky. Today the election is over, and elected officials of all sides must put partisan politics aside and come together for the betterment of Kentucky families."
