Trial By Jury

I just read this in an email:
Law & Order: Trial by Jury is doing the same thing, though it's less noticeable. In the first four weeks we've seen episodes 1, 7, 12 and 3; this Friday's will be episode 4 in production order. The 11th episode scheduled to air will be the last one that was completed before Jerry Orbach passed away, though they were only able to use his footage for episodes 1 and 7 (which became the first two of the season); episode 4 of the production season, this Friday's, will be the one where they'll mention Lenny Briscoe's death, though I'm not sure whether that was originally in the script or shot and added later.

I believe they had to reshoot a couple of scenes with Scott Cohen standing in for Jerry Orbach, and then a few scenes making reference to Briscoe to instead refer to Cohen's character, Det. Chris Ravell; I find it kinda funny that our introduction to him, the third episode to air, was actually the next-to-last of the season in terms of production order. When they put it out on DVD, I wonder if they'll present the episodes in production order or airdate order?
I found it very interesting with regards to all this.
