Campaign 2008?

Ready or not, here they come! Despite Edwards saying it was just a thank you speech, we know he's running as long as he doesn't make that pledge that Joe Lieberman made.
The courting rituals are starting now, in part because 2008 is wide open (the first time since 1928 in which neither a sitting president nor vice president will compete), because the Democrats have no clear leader, and because each serious player will probably have to raise roughly $40 million. They have to build ground games in Iowa and New Hampshire; stoke the roiling, thwarted passions of the Democratic base without looking like a pandering liberal; and fight for market niche in a crowded field.
No leader?!? That's not cool with me!

Johnny's Publicist, Charlie Barrett, remembers Carson:
"A guesting on 'The Tonight Show' was an endorsement for stardom from Johnny," said Charlie Barrett. "So many of the unknown comics that appeared on the show went on to fame. Mr. Carson always made his show a showplace for those new and upcoming comedians he felt had true, yet often undedeveloped talent."

"Johnny Carson literally defined late-night television and launched careers."

Charlie Barrett has been invited by and completed an interview with the TV show, "The Insider," as well as the TV special "Remembering Johnny Carson" for The TV Guide Channel, KABC Radio in Los Angeles, "Good Day" with hosts Doug Stephan and Heloise, "The Joe Mazza Show," Cable Radio Networks "The PM Show" with Mike Horn and Paul Stern and CRN's "World of Entertainment" with host Greg Hunter to name just a few.
This stats come to the press from Senator Bayh's office:
Bayh’s office said according to a Pentagon study, more than 40 percent of all reservists reported a loss in income when they are called up for active duty.
Now for something completly different:
Looking to possible future presidential candidates, Roemer said his party has several, including U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind.

"Evan Bayh is one who talks about values in a way that can connect to voters," Roemer said.

He also named Democratic governors Mark Warner of Virginia; Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas; Thomas Vilsack of Iowa; and Bill Richardson of New Mexico, as prospective candidates.

Roemer said he hasn't been offered a party vice chairmanship under Dean and is not sure he would accept such a role if it were offered.

However, Roemer said he would consider playing a supporting role and plans to "continue to fight" for the party in the future.

"Tim Roemer's service to our country in Congress, as a member of the 9/11 Commission and as a candidate for the Democratic National Committee chairmanship deserves respect and appreciation from all Hoosiers," Bayh said Monday. "He has represented our state and its people well and with honor. I look forward to his continued involvement in public service."
