Late Night blogging

Folks, you may have been noticing a lot of posts about the St. Louis Cardinals lately. Well, I'm a Cardinals fan and it's the playoffs. Nonetheless, it remains a political blog.

Cardinal70 wrote a great poem called Pujols at the Bat. It is to the same rhyming structure as was Casey at the Bat. Paul Harris has another one out there that Dennis Denby wrote it. Great minds do think alike now, don't they?

On to some of the news missed in earlier postings.

Bill Ritter is leading the polls in the Colorado gubernatorial race. The poll numbers in the Denver Post, sent to campaign supporters via email, had the following excerpts:
If that election were held today, the sole Democratic candidate, former Denver District Attorney Bill Ritter, would defeat either Holtzman or Beauprez...

In a head-to-head contest, Ritter leads Beauprez 42 percent to 36 percent. … Against Holtzman, Ritter leads 41 percent to 30 percent...
The election is about a year away. Ritter's numbers look good right now.

I've added a lot of Cardinal-related blogs lately. St. Louis Cardinals, that is.
