KY-2: Mike Weaver for Congress 2006

The word has been going around for a while that the DCCC has found a strong candidate to run against Congressman Ron Lewis. We have found that strong candidate in Colonel John "Mike" Weaver, a state representative.

I had the honor of first meeting Col. Weaver at Family Day in September, and than again at the Biden event. Col. Weaver was elected to the state house in 1996, and according to his website biography:
For eight years, Mike has sponsored, co-sponsored, and voted for legislation that had to meet a simple test: "is it good for family, faith, and freedom, and will it be good for our community?"
That's a good slogan: Faith, Family, and Freedom. Or another slogan from his last campaign:No One gets left behind.

Col. Weaver has prefiled bills dealing with the Military Veterans' Bill of Rights, an initiative launched by Kentucky State Treasurer Jonathan Miller.

See the Bridge for more on this.

EDIT: Campaign site is online
