ESPN reported that University of Illinois Coach Bruce Weber's mother fell ill in route to the Illinois basketball game in Chicago and is being prepped for surgery. Weber was informed by his wife, Megan, after the game.
Weber's mother has a history of strokes.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family right now.
UPDATE:
Dawn Weber, 81, died shortly after surgery to repair a torn aorta. Bruce Weber's status is uncertain tomorrow according to Illinois SID Kent Brown. My condolences are with the family at this sad time.
