The Torch is Passed

Americans Coming Together (ACT) President Ellen Malcolm is passing the torch on to President Bill Clinton's former staffer, Harold Ickes. Malcolm returns to running Emily's List full-time. Mazel Tov!

Is Hillary trying to get the Jewish vote in 2008? JTA reports that "U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) told the Jewish Council for Public Affairs she wants a U.N. resolution against international anti-Semitism." I think it's about bloody time.

Natalie Portman has said that she called the kissing scene a mistake. A mistake that it wasn't me!

NKU arena is certain. What does one lawmaker say about it?
The House appears inclined to scale back NKU's appropriation. Even one Northern Kentucky member questioned the logic of the extra money the Senate is proposing.

"This is just politics at its absolute worst," said Rep. Dennis Keene, D-Wilder. Keene said by asking for so much the region could be setting itself up to lose support among leaders in the House.

"Pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered," said Keene. "I would love to see the $60 million, but it is not a reality. It is going to cause us to have a political problem with the rest of the state."
Well, Dennis, you seem to take the problem away from Louisville. As a religious Jew, if the graduation takes place in Ohio, I would have no choice but to spend the night across the river. If it takes place in Kentucky, I can just walk over there. You want the graduation in Ohio? Fine by me but guess who will not be happy about that? The current gymnasium is not so well. I don't like bleachers.

Jon Stewart is invited to the College World Series. Will he do play by play commentating?

Upright Citizens Brigade. Amy Poehler is an alumnus of UCB and I believe still performs there. Great comedian.
