Jeb Writer Resigns after he Plagarizes

Jeb Bush has a speechwriter who quit the staff after being caught plagarizing:

Gov. Jeb Bush's speechwriter resigned Tuesday, citing news reports detailing allegations of plagiarism and sexual harassment while he worked at a newspaper.

Lloyd Brown, 65, was hired by Bush on Dec. 20, about a month after he retired as the editorial page editor of The Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville. While at the newspaper, a review found instances of plagiarism in editorials he had written.

The review was sparked after a former Times-Union editorial writer, Billee Bussard, wrote a lengthy article in Folio Weekly, a Jacksonville weekly newspaper.

In the article, titled "Porn, Hypocrisy, Plagiarism: The Dark Side of Jacksonville's Daily," Bussard wrote that Brown viewed Internet pornography in the paper's office, and she said he conducted sexual conversations on the telephone while viewing the pornography in the workplace.

"Sensationalized news stories using accusations made against me years ago as a device to attack Gov. Bush have convinced me that I can better serve my family and the governor by not being a distraction from the important work he is doing on behalf of the people of Florida," Brown said in his resignation letter.

Brown's position in the governor's office paid $80,000 a year. His responsibilities included writing speeches, letters to the editor and other material for Bush. His resignation is effective Jan. 31.

"It's unfortunate," said Bush spokesman Jacob DiPietre. "This was a difficult time for Lloyd and his family. We accepted his resignation and we wish him well."

That isn't cool at all!
