Bayh on Rumsfeld's departure

Evan Bayh praised the departure of Rumsefeld.
U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh today praised the resignation of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

"It's better that wisdom come late than not all," said Bayh, an Indiana Democrat who was not up for election Tuesday but is weighing a presidential bid in 2008.

"Secretary Rumsfeld's decision to step down is good for the country, but long overdue. We need more than a change in personnel; we need a better policy in Iraq."

Bayh has called for Rumsfeld to step down in the past. While he supported going to war, Bayh has been critical of the Bush administration for its handling of the conflict.
