Telethon update

Per this site, more people have been added to the list of performers and presenters:
Brad Pitt, Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, Robert DeNiro, Josh Groban, Jay Leno, Natalie Portman, Nicolette Sheridan, Andy Garcia, Hugh Grant and Naomi Watts have joined the lineup for the NBC Universal benefit special "Tsunami Aid: A Concert of Hope." The broadcast will air live at 8:00pm on Saturday, January 15th on NBC, the NBC Universal cable platforms, Telemundo and PAX.

SBC Communications will underwrite the two-hour, commercial-free special.

Performances will be available for download on Sony Connect. In association with this event, Sony's Connect music store will offer exclusive downloads of live performances from the concert. All proceeds from download sales will be donated to the American Red Cross International Response Fund, and Sony Corporation of America will match the first $100,000 raised through domestic download sales. Downloads will be available at www.connect.com.

Capital One is providing call center support to the American Red Cross to help collect donations during Saturday night's broadcast.
Since the Golden Globes are on tomorrow night, I'm gonna go ahead and predict Natalie Portman for Best Supporting Actress. This comes from Tom O'Neill's notes for his predictions:
Natalie, Meryl and Cate have huge support among voters. This could be Portman's big breakthrough. She's a foreign-born star who's proven herself in popcorn hits ("Star Wars: Episodes") and quirky indie fare ("Garden State") and this is just the kind of degrading babe/stripper role that win these kinds of awards. But Cate is really what makes "Aviator" soar. She reigns as Kate the Great, who never, by the way, won a Globe, even though she died Oscar's Biggest Champ. Hmmmm … is Kate just cursed at these Globes? There's another eerie omen. Cate may be beloved by Globers (she won Best Actress for "Elizabeth"), she's not an outright babe like Natalie. And these award derbies ALWAYS have a babe breaking loose. The horny geezer guys who comprise most of the voters at these types of awards insist on that. So, Natalie it is.
