Conan's tribute to Johnny

I admit that it delayed my bedtime last night so that I could watch Conan O'Brien pay tribute to Johnny Carson. I'm still waiting word from Sid Caesar's people if he issued a statement yet. Here's the scoop:
Conan O'Brien is the last of the late-night talkers to weigh-in with a Johnny Carson tribute.

Because of Late Night's" taping schedule, O'Brien's show Tuesday night was his first since Carson's death more than a week ago.

O'Brien will be taking over the Tonight Show in 2009 and says he talked with Carson on the phone after the announcement was made.

O'Brien says he was thrilled that Carson called him "Kiddo" during their conversation.

But the TV talker said he didn't make a very good first impression on Carson years before.

O'Brien said Carson once asked for directions to get off the Fox lot when O'Brien was a writer on "The Simpsons" - but he told Carson to go the wrong way.
