Kos attacks Senator Evan Bayh yet again

These attacks by Daily Kos against Senator Evan Bayh (D-Indiana) are baseless and pointless.

I think about what the Senator said the other day on This Week, and it's true: this election will be won in the living rooms and coffee shops.

I can go on and on as to what the facts are but there's no point in doing so because Kos will not acknowledge it. His readers might, but he unlikely will.

The truth is: Senator Bayh did give money but not by way of his campaign committee but his All America PAC.

Here are the comments by Americans for Bayh's own Rob Harrington by way of his comment right here.
Sen Bayh is unfairly being slammed for not giving enough... well let's look at the real facts.

>>> Since 1998 Sen Bayh has raised nearly $2,500,000 for Democratic Senate Candidates and the DSCC.

>>> Since 2004 Sen Bayh has been to 19 different states and over 50 events raising money for Democratic candidates and organizations

>>> Sen Bayh established Camp Evan Bayh. The two Camp Bayh's trained local activists to win campaigns across Indiana. The 2nd phase of Camp Bayh (Full Immersion) trained and sent 50 fully paid campaign workers out to 5 states. The campaign workers were paid $1000/mo for 3 months and given free transportation and room and board. Total cost was over $250,000. Also note that the value of a paid, trained campaign worker is MUCH higher than the amount it actually cost to train/pay him or her. It's estimated that a paid and trained campaign worker is worth 5 to 10 times as much as if the money was just donated to the campaign.

>>> The Iowa GOP credited Sen Bayh's staffers as being a significant reason for the state turning Blue.

>>> Sen Bayh spent a solid week campaigning for the Indiana Three (Joe Donnelly IN-2, Brad Ellsworth IN-8 and Baron Hill IN-9). All three won changing Indiana's House delegation from 2 D - 7 R to 5 D - 4 R.

>>> Since 2004, Sen Bayh donated money to 13 different federal candidates and countless state and local candidates.

>>> Sen Bayh donated $100,000 to the Indiana Democratic Party. Democrats retook the Indiana House.
Then there is this comment:
The "Bayh's stingy" campaign is riddled with inaccuracies... well let's take a look at his giving...

First off we have his Camp Bayh'ers... He's paying the salary of 50 campaign workers across the country for 3 months... $1000/mo for 50 workers for 3 months... $150,000, not including room and board, transportation and training...

And as for donating money... just since July All America PAC donated:
Leonard Boswell - $5000
Julia Carson - $2500
John Cranley - $1000
DSCC - $15,000
Phil Hare - $500
Tom Harkin - $120
Paul Hodes - $417
Iowa Democratic Party - $900
Iowa Democratic Party - $1000
Selden Spencer - $100
Selden Spencer - $400
Debbie Stabenow - $2000

His Senate campaign has also paid more that $15,000 to the Indiana Democratic Party to pay for salary and other costs...

Not only that but he's spent a good portion of money travelling around the country campaigning for candidates...

Oops forgot to mention the $100,000.00 donation to the Indiana Democratic Party. These funds are much needed to help all of our candidates in the last month of the election season. With Bayh's help we may very well send 3 seats to Congress. Bayh has donated a great deal of effort behind Donnelly, Ellsworth and Hill. Bayh has spent most of this month campaigning and fundraising for these good men in Indiana.

DemocraticOrder at Kos was wise enough to post this diary in defense of Senator Bayh right here.
